Professional Packer
Can you fit a weeks worth of clothes in a carry-on?
There is no question that traveling with only a carry-on bag makes life so much easier. You can eliminate a good 45mins of your travel time if you don't have to wait for your luggage. You can also eliminate the chance of it getting lost, which has happened to me more than I care to admit. I get tremendous anxiety when I watch my luggage travel down that conveyer-belt-to-the-unknown.
So...what's the secret to getting in that C.O. bag?
The trick is to have the advanced packing skills that go beyond my level of which, I call, "the shovez-poo". I have a few friends who are stealth packers. My sister is one of them. Stealth packers will spend a good hour evaluating space before they start loading. You know, the thoughtful kind that lays everything out on the bed first.
The SECRET is in the "roll". First you have to fold your clothes "regular" style, smoothing out any wrinkles. Then, you roll it up. Yes, you roll it up. Believe it or not, rolling eliminates some of the wrinkles in packed clothes and it makes them fit more neatly into a suitcase, as well.
No more sitting on my suitcase to close it. I am determined to master this skill. I want to join the ranks of the professional packers, too. The good news is that my learning curve will make a great Mypheme movie. Don't you think?

Next time I travel I will try to video tape the ( what I call) the boy scout pack roll. I learned it from my Eagle Scout hubby and now I roll wherever I go. Or how do the kids, these days say it? It's how I roll *s*
