Red Carpet Dog
This year I didn't even blink at the bling.
I just want that f**king dog.
Uggie, the adorable, Jack Russell Terrier actor from the movie The Artist, has thrown me right back into the I want to have a dog market. Without giving too much of the movie away, Uggie steals the show by making that silent film have a heart. He is the poster dog for best friend and confidant, and it is no surprise that he becomes the ultimate life-saver, too.
In spite of their good looks, Jack Russell Terriers are notoriously crazy dogs. My brother has one that ate all the legs off of his living room sofa. The word high-spirited would be sugar-coating it. So what makes Uggie different?
Apparently Uggie was rejected by his first two owners for being too wild and was about to be sent to a dog pound when animal trainer, Omar Von Muller adopted him. He must be the Lee Strasberg of dog method acting. (Can someone get me a meeting with Omar?)
Since then, Uggie's star has risen. There is even a campaign on Facebook to have him nominated for best supporting actor. It's called CONSIDER UGGIE and no surprise, he has a twitter account, as well.
One more endearing fact about Uggie...he snores. A dog after my own heart. Find more interesting Uggie stuff on his BBC interview right here.

Like him on the screen but I have two dogs and two pooper scoopers. and no sitters for them! Want to travel or go all the time? Love the pups you see in the movies! Ask mom she will tell you about pets love the stuffed ones. No sitters!

Best part of the movie. Think it would be appropriate to have him get a supporting actor nomination...One question though, who would do his hair for the Oscars?
