With a successful lift off, Guy Laliberte took his show to space today.
The fifty year old owner of Cirque du Soleil, the famous circus arts and theater performance company, just left on the Soyuz TMA-16 spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. Laliberte is being hailed as "Canada's first space tourist", but they must have left out the word "billionaire" because the 12-day out-of-this-world trip is costing Guy $35 million.
OMG, I hope the spacecraft food is good.
Guy is calling the flight a “Poetic Social Mission, Moving Stars and Earth for Water”, and claims to be doing it as part of a campaign for his charity One Drop Foundation, a global organization focused on the world's growing shortage of clean water.
An important cause for sure, but did anyone stop and think about the waste of all that fossil fuel let alone the CO2 impact on our environment?
Could the 35 million dollars have been used differently?
Clowning around just went to a whole new level.
If I had that much money, space travel would not be on my To Do list.
All that money is useless when you are in space all the time. No shopping in space!
I hope that he got to sit in the first class section.
All in the name of charity????Give me a break!
