We love the SNOWE!

How cool is Congresswoman Olympia J. Snowe from Maine?  She definitely gets the Mypheme nod.  How amazing is it that she was the LONE Republican on the Senate Finance committee that supported Obama's health care measure.  Her quote in the New York Times this week gave me the chills.  As reported by Robert Pear and David M. Herszenhorn on the front page she is quoted:
"Is this bill all that I would want?" Ms. Snowe said. " Far from it. Is it all that it can be? No. But when history calls, history calls.  I happen to think that the consequences of inaction dictate the urgency of Congress taking every opportunity to demonstrate its capacity to solve the monumental issues of our time."  Her comments silenced the room. 

Finally, a congress person who puts partisan bullshit aside and see's the bigger picture for our country that is so wanting change but desperately afraid of it.

I think the voters of her home state of Maine should be walking proud and other should be inspired by her single minded thinking.  The back room lobbying must must have been very difficult to navigate. Way to go Congresswoman Snowe!
