Outside Therapy
Once again, my mother was right. Spending time outdoors is being hailed as the new wonder drug.
A while back, Time Magazine had an interesting artcle about a new-old kind of therapy that
helps people that suffer from anxiety, stress or depression.
Eco- therapists (yes, it's a specialty) counsel patients to slow down and reconnect with nature by hiking, gardening or simply taking walks outdoors.
The article sights a 2007 study by researchers at the University of Essex
in England which found that a daily dose of walking outside could be as
effective as taking antidepressant drugs for treating mild to moderate
depression.
Take note....OUTDOORS = MOOD ENHANCER.
Do it.
