100 Calorie Snack Packs
I repeat, THIS IS NOT A DIET FOOD.
Nothing pisses me off more than these 100 calorie snack packs. Everytime I walk past them in the grocery store they scream, "Hey, woman with the ample ass, I may be a shaved oreo, but I'm only 100 calories. Com'on let's party". Worst pick-up line ever, but I have to say the "100 calories" cackle stops me every time. What is it? The cute packaging? The small size? The guilt free tasting of a forbidden treat?
This is the worst case of misguided portion control that I've ever encountered. Have you taken the time to count how many items are in the 100 calorie bag? Or even checked out the fine print that promises, "plenty of great taste, and a smart and delicious snack on the go?"
Plenty? 10 mini pretzels. Smart? I'm an easy 3 bagger in one sitting. Smart marketing for them cause I end up eating 4 bags easy while reading People Magazine. And finally Snack on the Go? I do much better with an entire box of Wheat Thins in my lap while driving. Have you ever tried to open these snack packs while behind the wheel? DON'T...it's right up there with texting.
I have an early New Years resolution...no more 100 calorie snack packs.
A handful of almonds with their healthy monounsaturated fat, fiber, and protein will be my go-to snack for 2010. Think of the money I will save.

It's 100 calories just to open the pack and then you get a nibble on the inside so you can go buy the gigantic magunda size afterwards .......... Sometimes I buy them if it's buy one get one free but usually I just laugh and walk on by ..............
