Frozen Juice
My parents are screaming,"SEND IN THE FURS".
Yesterday morning, Palm Coast, Florida was 24 degrees! The Governor of Florida has declared a State of Emergency and thankfully did it without a phone call from my parents and their 300 some Floridian friends. The outrageous freezing temperatures that have blanketed their state (and the rest of the south as well) are threatening Florida's 1 billion dollar citrus fruit industry. This is some serious weather stuff. My poor parents are sitting in their sunroom dressed in Steeler Snuggies and Ugg Boots.
I'm worried, but grateful that I already received my Christmas box of Navels.
Floridian Farmers have taken to hosing down their crops with water. Believe it or not, this can preserve the fruit. I didn't know this but when the water freezes, it acts as a seal by keeping the heat and moisture in.
Can we arrange to hose down my parents too?
