So many people have them. If you're not sure that you do, here are the Top Ten.
Do you jump at the site of a spider? Do you hold your breath and look at the floor while riding on an elevator? How about flying? Are you a night-light person?
About 19.2 million American adults ages 18 and over, have some type of specific phobia, or extreme fear.
I'm only writing about this because the other day when I was power walking with my friend through a residential neighborhood, a large, scary, viciously barking German Shepard charged us when we passed its driveway. Not only did the blood leave my body, but I wet myself too. The electric fence kept him at the edge and as far as I'm concerned, also kept us from being that dog's dinner.
Here are some of the worst phobias.
1) Snakes
2) Bugs that Crawl
3) Elevators or Cramped Spaces
4) Other People
5) Heights
6) The Dark
7) Thunder and Lightning
8) Flying
9) Dogs
10) The Dentist
I have at least two of the Top Ten...but then, I'm kind of competitive, so maybe I really have four. How about you?
The only phobias that come to mind are ........fear of the dark and closed spaces (yet I'm a scuba diver ,go figure that one out) and fear of work ............oh which reminds me gotta go .............later *s*
I'll throw earthquakes in there.
Phobic about barfing.
