Sometimes it's mind boggling how much electronic time I waste all day.
I know there are many statistics about kids over using their phones and computers , but let's face it, we are just as bad.
I realized it today when I went from my car to the numerous meetings and errands I had with my phone in my hand, not in my purse. It has officially migrated. I get nervous when I don't have it. I get nervous when my battery is low. I get crazy when I realize that I have forgotten to return the 50 or so emails I now get daily. More than once I have turned around and gone back home for my phone, panicked that I might miss something or someone.
And FORGET shopping on the web. Those messages are now instant deletes! What the heck happened to me?? I have succumbed. I wistfully tell my kids stories about life BEFORE cell phones and email. Shocking to them, they couldn't even begin to conceive of it.
Pretty soon there will be re-hab for habitual phone and texters. I will be there for sure. It will likely take me over a week of no phone to regain my self esteem. But for now? To whomever I haven't returned a call or email a blanket apology. There is always tomorrow, as long as my phone is charged!
On the rare day when I accidentally forget my phone, I am reminded of the peacefulness I am missing.
So true!
Mine is my right hand ..........wait a minute I already have a right hand ....... oh wait , it's ringing .....brb *lol*
So did you get my text???????
