Some Of The Best Years Of Your Life
I found my faded college ID buried in a junk drawer!
I absolutely loved college. The freedom to learn, explore, make friends and have fun was like no other. The greatest thing is that all of those good times stay buried in my heart and rise up when I hear certain songs by Steely Dan or get Facebooked by a long lost classmate.
But finding my ID reminded me of a ridiculous thing that I did the last time I renewed my drivers license which was primarily prompted by my passport renewal photo.
My passport photo is AWFUL! I tried in vain to take a good photo at CVS but each one looked more and more like a mug shot and with the expiration date looming, I got so frustrated that I just picked the best of the bunch and sent it in. I'm happy to say that at least it will provide ten years of pant-wetting laughter.
So for my driver's license renewal, I decided to have my hair blown out and even went with a touch more make-up than usual. I ran into an acquaintance in the DMV line who loudly remarked, "Well you're all dressed up!" I lied through my teeth and said, "I just came from a meeting...pretty convenient, huh?"
Some people have such balls.
Anyway, I'm happy to report that my drivers license photo is amazing and it makes me feel good about myself, but it also makes me realize how far I've come from my college ID days when my hair was frizzy, my eyebrows were like caterpillars and my face was shiny. It is all about freedom, isn't it?

As for me I say what you see is what you get ............. my days of being thin, bushy eyebrows and long gorgeous hair are past. Now it's gorgeous hair and a great personality .....as for my passport and lisences photo.......well it just reminds me that those were the days and these are the days to come *s*
