Under-wire Issues
We're talking bras with structure.
Face it. The older I get, the more support I need. My bras are so incredibly sturdy that if I got hit by a car tomorrow, my bra would be the only thing left standing. But sturdy does not always equate with comfort and no matter how many I've tried on, they all make me feel like I'm wearing corrective shoes.
I remember watching my grandmother take a bath once when I was young. She held up one of her large breasts with one hand and washed underneath with the other. It looked like she was playing the cello. I can remember thinking "I hope that doesn't happen to me". Ha ha. I got my own YO-YO MA concert going on now!
Recall the "go-without-a-bra-test" when we were younger? If you could hold a pencil under your boob, you needed a bra. So if I can hold a full 2 liter diet coke under one and pour it at the same time, do I need one too?
I've never set off a metal detector in an airport (although secretly I fear it) but last week, I read about a large breasted attorney who set off a prison metal detector while visiting her client in Miami. Packing heat? I think so.
Some of my friends have suggested exploring a "breast lift" but I'm fearful of surgery. In the meantime, I'm taking prison visits off of my to do list and I remain hopeful that someone will develop a supportive bra that's feels like you're not wearing anything.

It has taken me 40 years to find the perfect bra. The support is amazing and the comfort even better. The wire does not jab in the armpit since it stops an inch from the top. WACOAL!
