Single Process Downstairs

Dying for a bikini wax...literally.

I was surprised a while back when I went to get a bikini wax.   It is already an uncomfortable process that I and many others like me have endured for years.

Like other beauty treatments ( if we can consider that a beauty treatment?), the art of waxing has evolved.  There are so many choices.  One can opt for the au naturale version, the Sphynx, derived from the naked breed of cat from Canada, the Landing strip, the Playboy strip, Chaplin's  Mustache, the Triangle, or the plain old bikini wax.  I'm serious, I went on Wikipedia and looked it up.

One thing I had never been asked before however, is if I would like to have my pubic hair dyed.  I said "Excuse me?", the waxer Daniella asked again: "You have gray hairs down here, would you like me to dye them?".

I live in LA and thought I had heard it all...but of course, I hadn't!   A few of my friends had not only heard of it, but have had it done. One girlfriend of mine told me that she dyes her own pubic hair. She told me a hilarious story of trying to clean the kitchen while the dye dried; getting the quasi-permanent all over the place,  her legs, her clothing, and anything else she happened to bump into, all while walking like a cowboy.  I mean seriously, just how far to do we have to go to be coiffed?  Long story short?  I went for it,  though I drew the line at highlights!  Just another tale of beauty in the City of Angels!

I admit it...while dying the top of my head to eliminate the gray I got the idea one night to dye the "downstairs" at the same time. Guess what? It worked really well! Being a redhead, I was a little worried I would end up looking like Samantha in Sex and the City when she tried to dye her pubes and came out looking a lot like Bozo...thank the Goddess I had more success :)
