Mypheme-ism
We don't know about you, but we have a bad case of TELLING IT LIKE IT
IS.
The politically correct term is "No Filter" but truthfully, we prefer Mypheme-ism. It's not really a disease, it's an acquired state of mind. And guess what, once you get it, THERE'S NO CURE.
Did we forget to mention that its highly contagious too? Mypheme-ism is-im spreading faster than our collective middle aged butts. In fact, its been reported in over 45 countries (Shout out to our one viewer in Malta who spent 10 minutes on the site) since it was first discovered last year.
The truth is that TELLING IT LIKE IT IS makes you feel good about yourself. And who doesn't want a virus like that? But where did it come from, you ask? Let us give you a little history behind the "affliction".
Like all lofty medical terms, it has its origins in Ancient Greece.
Pheme was the Greek Goddess of Popular Rumor. She had her own temple in Athens. Pheme was always prying. She announced whatever she heard, first to only a few, and then louder until everyone had known. She was a Goddess who could tell it like it is.
If you dig, you can find some pretty interesting stuff. Archeologists recently uncovered an urn, which revealed some of the important proclamations made by Pheme. In no particular order, they are as follows: "These togas don't flatter my curves", "Who died and made Zeus King?", "Troy is totally testosterone", "Like no way on the Vestal Virgin Tour of Duty" and "Dionysus is my homeboy" (he was the God of Wine) and others too numerous to name.
Pheme was one of the first women who believed in the power of SHARING a good story and who embraced the concept of feeling good about yourself. We added the "My" because it gives us possession. The National Institute of Health added the "ism"...for medical reasons only and, because they're bozos.
Mypheme [mahy-fem]. It is our call to arms. Pass it on. Say it loud and say it proud!
