Bedtime Beauty Nightmares

I realized tonight just how much I hate my bedtime beauty ritual.

Have you noticed that as you get older, it takes so much longer to get all those beauty treatments done before you hit the sack?

It started when my sister asked me what products I use to battle the wrinkle-fest that has started on my face.  When I actually paid attention to the detail, I was horrified to discover the amount of products in my medicine cabinet.  I have so many beauty items that i could easily open up an apothecary in my bathroom.  It is the lengthy routine, however, that makes me crazy. It goes something like this:

First there is the make up remover.  Then the special face soap. Three days a week there is the face scrubber machine. Then the hydrating face and neck mask (2 days a week for that one.) Then there is the vitamin C, the Retin A (also 3 days a week.).  After all of that there is the Latisse for my fading eyebrows,  the anti-wrinkle cream around the face and eyes. Oh and lets not forget the Clarsonic,  the special wrinkle around the eyes machine, which I use every other day.
My kids are crying for me to come and read to them somewhere in the middle of all of this and if I do that and come back to my routine, I  then have to try to remember where I was in all of this, the memory an issue for another blog.

After I finish ALL of that?  I take out my one contact lens, give the hair a brush and by this time it's morning and I then start all over again with the AM ritual!

Gone are the days when we can just go to bed with makeup still on our face.
