A Formerly? What does that make me?

In this past Sunday's NYT's, there was an article about a new book from Stephanie Dolgoff called My Formerly Hot Life: Dispatches From Just the Other Side of Young” (Ballantine Books).  It talks about women in their early 30's and  40's who she places in a new category called Formerlies, as in formerly hot.  Kind of like adult tweens.  It all started kind of as a joke until she started a blog called Formerlyhot.com which took off like gang busters.  She has already noticed what many aging women notice, you don't have it anymore the way you used to.  You evolve into a more mature version of yourself and begin to appreciate shit like focusing on your happiness and fulfilling your family, etc.

Why can't older women be hot like they used to?  THEY CAN.  I just wanted to barf when I read about this categorical definition of women by age.  I mean if women who are 30-40 feel like they are now formerly hot, what category goes with older women? Formerly hot once removed? Great, Great Formerly?

C'mon.  Its all in your head.  If you want to be hot then be hot.  Just don't ever stop telling it like it is!!
