Trying to open the impossibly hard plastic "clamshell" packaging can send you to the emergency room.

If anything will destroy a gel manicure then this is it. I nearly killed myself the other day trying to open a two pack of computer printer cartridges. I ended up using a fish fillet-er which almost ended up in my thigh. After scaring myself to death, I got really pissed off.

Why do we still have this universally despised packaging? Not only is it made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which is considered the most environmentally damaging plastic around, it is by far the most impossible package to open. (Larry David does a funny bit on this in Curb Your Enthusiasm).

Well, I have good news to share with you because someone tipped me off on how to avoid "wrap rage". Believe it or not, a simple rotary can opener can do the trick. Just lock it on the end and pretend you're opening a can of tuna fish.
