YogaHop?

Yoga What?

I am sure these classes are springing up all over the country and I am guessing that the original Yogi's who devoted themselves to the spiritual study of Yoga are collectively rolling over in their graves.  There are so many new hybrid yoga classes that your head could spin trying to sort out which one is for you.

There is Yogahop,  yoga with hip music.  There is yoga combined with kickboxing, cardio moves and yogalates. There is yoga to 80's music and Exflowsion, don't even know what that one is.

I tried the Yogahop and have to admit it was pretty great.  I get easily bored at a traditional yoga class and really loved the upbeat music, even though it really doesn't match the poses.  For me the distraction of a good tune can carry me through just about any exercises.   The music ranges from Lady Gaga, to Springsteen, to Dave Matthews, to Eminem.. eclectic and never dull.  It definitely is not for the hard core Yoga lovers, but for me it was kinda great.  Next time you see me, I will be happily gyrating my way to downward dog, but hey, its better than nothing?
