Where's My Wallet?

It has become a teenage battle cry in my house.

I thought that I was the only one in my house allowed to misplace things. Not the case. The other day we spent more than 45 minutes trying to find my son's wallet. Check the pants pocket, check the dresser, check the car, check the backpack...you name it we checked it. Turned up that it was buried in the seat cushion of the sofa along with an old remote, stale popcorn, some loose change and a few M & M's.

Each time the wallet is misplaced, we get to add a new location to our search. When your kid is trying to get to somewhere important like school or (let us pray) a job, this process can be very stressful.

I love to belt out "YOU HAVE TO BE MORE RESPONSIBLE!" but the truth is that I misplace shit everyday so I have to be careful of the double standard thing.

A little internet search on this issue (thankfully not WebMD this go round) turned up a wallet at a killer price tag of $825.00. Dunhill makes a biometric wallet that has a Bluetooth proximity alarm that can be linked to a mobile phone and set to sound an alarm if your phone and wallet are separated by more than 15 feet.  The wallet also claims to be virtually indestructible (it has a carbon fiber shell) and can only be opened with your fingerprint. Yowsa!

I'll be waiting for the price tag to drop on that sucker. Until then, it's The Competitive Misplacement Show at my house.

If it's not the wallet -it's the cell. Most mornings my son walks over to the house phone and I ask(though I know)."What are you doing?" Calling my phone...Yes there it is now...At least he's consistant....
