Best Wedding Invitation, Ever
Tell it like it is, sister!
This is the invitation to my friend, Kate's wedding this fall. It's a postcard, minus the double weight paper, embossed ink and velum insert. It has no hand calligraphy, no woven ribbon, no scented inlay, and no over-sized postage stamp. It has nothing but a wonderful, inspired design by her friend and graphic artist, Anne Taintor and the killer line "if by "married" you mean shackled for life... then yes, Kate and Scott are doing it!".
This is the kind of invitation that produces an instant smile.
I hate invitations that require the postman to use a handcart to get it to your front door. So much unwrapping and you can definitely count on getting a pretty good paper cut in the process. I'm not a fan of "Evites" either because I like to get actual mail in the steel box, but all the wasted double weight paper on important invitations just feels criminally excessive these very go-green days. But then, I got this one in the mail.
Kate has found the happiest medium of all but more importantly, her invitation has some real personality. It's even bulletin board/refrigerator ready!
FYI, the flip side has all the concise details of where and when. Long live postcards! A little vintage, a lot of humor...I'm obsessed.
