No Service
A week without a cellphone wasn't so bad.
More news from the remote vacay spot. Turns out low tech is something to be both treasured and cursed at the same time. Although kind of liberating to be untethered from the cell phone, it was also a pain in the ass to try and coordinate my families whereabouts while on vacation. I spent so much time walking back and forth trying to coordinate everyone's lives, meals and supplies that I longed for just a few minutes of texting them to set things up. How would Anthony Weiner have faired with no cells? Kinda sounds like therapy for that guy.
I noticed the teenagers going through some withdrawal at first as they walked around and had to actually talk each other. Like face to face. Old school. It was cool. So I figured it wasn't so bad to walk around looking for my peeps after all. If it meant that I could actually see them and talk to them in person, it was a good thing. It was a lot less convenient, but away more fun once we found each other. I also actually got to see their expressions live and was spared the smiley face emoticons. Miraculous! Thinking about trying this at home. Going to have to text my family and see what they think!
