Zumba!
Stepping out...and forward and back and side.
I went to the gym with the intention of doing a little treadmill and some free weights. My back and shoulder have been bothering me from too many attempted yoga backbends. When I saw a line forming, I realized it was Zumba time. 1 pm on a sunny Saturday I knew I would not know anyone in the class. I felt safe!...I decided to go into class explaining to the the instructor that this was my first class and I already worked out so I may need to leave early. I was already making excuses! Truly, I didn't want to make him feel bad! The class began with the flamboyant instructor lip synching... I thought is this for me???
I looked around and honestly everyone looked a bit latino-ish...They could all move their hips in a way that mine just don't go. The elderly woman in front of me donning a knee brace and hearing aid could move!!! I stood behind her thinking for sure she'd make me look good!
By the end of class I was soaked and no longer cared what I looked like (although i did apologize to the girls behind me!). I think I may have yelled out ZUMBA a few times too!!
I taught my kids to never give up and try something more than once unless its illegal. I'll be back...at an off peak time of course. Never under estimate the lady with a brace and hearing aid.

I tried this once and I think I'm ready to dance back-up for J-Lo.
