How Long Do We Wait?
I needed one of these play cubes today while waitng to see a doctor.
Really, they should make one of those for adult waiting rooms, especially for dermatology offices. I attempted to go see a new dermatologist for some routine investigating, um, I mean for a consultation for some skin work I am interested in doing. This particular doctor was highly recommended with a very impressive website. The waiting room was packed at 10A on a Tuesday morning.
I got there the requisite 10 mins early, having just driven about 30 minutes, to fill out the mountain of paperwork. I then sat down and read every pamphlet ever written that described every filler, laser, treatment and procedure ever invented for the skin. I was about 30 minutes into the wait when I realized that I was the only one left in the waiting room. After inquiring about my appointment I proceeded to wait another 15 minutes. Still no sign of life. Now I had been there an hour and was getting seriously annoyed. After another 15 minutes and I decided to leave. They were apologetic but not enough to do anything about it.
How long is long enough? How do doctors get away with that shit? Later I found out that another person I know actually made it as far as a room and then waited 3 HOURS with numbing cream on her face for a procedure that never materialized. That would really piss me off, especially if you are too numb to yell at them on the way out! I say give the doctors that make you wait the Mypheme finger of fate. That and write a review on their websites!

This kind of waiting makes me crazy.

You have to ask yourself if this doctor or any doctor that makes you wait is worth it.

I have to tell you , having used to work for doctors . It is no longer about the patient but the $$$$$$$$$. How many patients can you cram into an 8 hour day and how much can you squeeze out of the insurance companies and then the patient becomes secondary. This does not happen in all doctors offices but the ones that it does .well it can be very disappointing. I say bring back the doctors of yore when medicine was all aboutmedicine!

Hey??what needs to b done???anyway there is a great doc here in the desert area and I never wait more than ten minutes. and neither does anyone else...but I remember years ago going to a famous dermatoligist in chicago with a real problem . You might remember when you were a child. and it was for all of my children. after waiting three hours he gave me a salve and said I should have seen him earlier. needless to say the salve did not work and when I returned ,and also waited, he then asked me what have I been doing for this priblem. I walked out of the offfice and never went back. I don't think that most of the DR.s of that ty pe ofpractice give much thought to the patients time or problems. wow I hope I haven't opened a can of worms....
