No matter how hot it gets there is always a way to get the job done.

The heat wave has spread nationwide.  It makes it difficult to navigate even the simplest tasks in your life. Trying to beat the heat makes every task seem way harder than usual.  A permanent state of sauna.  People have taken matters into their own hands in the attempt to stay cool.  Park closer to your destination, park in the shade, go out in early hours or wait until after the sun goes down.  

My friend and I were determined to stop at an outlet mall in 105 heat with no indoor parking.  We were traveling out of town and it was unlikely that we could make it back anytime soon.  Now or never.  We had to decide if it was worth it to keep our luggage, more specifically our make-up and toiletries out in the heat for a few hours. What would cost more, replacing the creams and lotions or purchasing stuff we probably didn't need at the outlets?  We decided to get creative and pulled over to a nearby store and purchased a styrofoam cooler and a giant block of ice.  We loaded our cosmetic bags into the cooler put the ice on top and hoped for the best.

3 hours later we came out to discover that the ice had melted but the cosmetic bags, save one, were completely cool.  Only 1 problem.  One bag was not completely waterproof and when removed from the cooler, out poured about 3 cups of water out of the bag. We saved it from the heat but not from the floods! Ingenious?   Temporarily we thought we were so smart.  In the long run I guess we were as we had a great outing, always a treat to spend alone time with a great friend.  The makeup?  Mostly okay, but the cosmetic bag had to go.  Small price to pay!
