Legacy Of Laughter

Attention all of you Lucy fans...

Yesterday, on what would have been her 100th birthday, Lucille Ball's hometown of Jamestown, New York recorded 915 Lucys impersonators to set a new world record for most people dressed as Lucy Ricardo in one place and at one time. It was organized by the Lucy Desi Center in Jamestown, NY.

The mission of the Lucille Ball Desi Arnaz Center for Comedy, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is to preserve the legacy of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz and enrich the world through the healing powers of love and laughter through its commitment to the development of the comedic arts.

They are raising money for many worthwhile programs. One that caught my eye was the development of a comedic education program in conjunction with an accredited university that will focus on the healing power of laughter.

I would have gone to graduate school if I knew that I could have earned a PHD in "Laughing Your Ass Off".

The center does run a comedic 4 day comedy workshop. Would that be a great birthday-girls-only weekend or what?

One of my favorite shows was Lucy in the candy factory putting candy in boxes. When my children were small I never missed " I Love Lucy" I still try to catch the reruns.
