Good Vibrations

Tanya Wexler's new movie "Hysteria" is getting some great buzz.

If you were a woman living in the 19th century in Western Europe, and suffered from faintness, nervousness, insomnia, fluid retention, heaviness in abdomen, muscle spasms, shortness of breath, irritability, loss of appetite for food or sex, and "a tendency to cause trouble" then you were diagnosed with Hysteria.

This movie follows the story of how two London based doctor's in the 1880's set out to find a cure.

Yes, it's a true story. Yes, it's a comedy and yes, these are the guys that invented the vibrator.

The special therapy created by these two Einstein's produced a "hysterical paroxysm", what is now called an orgasm, and was thought to be a temporary cure. Great thing about that was you couldn't overdose.

Did the line out the door scream insane, or horny? Hmmm...

Speaking of lines...I'm in this one. I can't wait to see it. Would coming soon be the wrong thing to say?

You know how when you talk about food and you say something is so good , it's orgasmic ? Would it be wrong to say this of this film as well ? All I know is ........ I'm buying my ticket tomorrow . After all .....as Ebert would say "I'm giving this one 5 thumbs up....."
