My Vacuum Sucks

Crumbs on the keyboard cause a minor disaster.

I am one of those people that some would call a computer snacker. You know, the kind that can't sit in front of a screen unless they're chewing? That's me. Since I have an affinity for things that crunch, most of my favorite snacks come out of a bag.

My daughter recently turned me on to a cruncher called Pop Chips. OMG, you just can't eat one. They're so addictive! I rationalized buying the Costco size bag because it was too big to fit on my desk and thus prevented me from eating too many. Don't laugh...I'm also getting a good workout because I'm making about 20 additional trips to the kitchen for bowl refills.

Snack history aside, I noticed that my keyboard had a lot of Pop Chip crumbs stuck in between the keys. (Crumbs in the keyboard trigger writer's block and OCD episodes, FYI). My can of Dust-Off was long gone---used to dry a super glue project that involved repairing a shattered, but cherished, elementary school sculpture.

Why not try the Miele canister vacuum? It does have a low power switch for use in cleaning delicate window treatments.

To say that it sucked the life out of my keyboard would be an understatement. In in nano second, the vacuum ate several keys, all of which were retrieved by sifting through the dust bag.

I showed up at the Apple Store with my Zip Lock Bag of keys and half naked keyboard.

Somehow the Mac Genius wasn't buying the "These just fell off" story.
