My Big Red Face

Ouch! Laser resurfacing!

Desperate to get rid of my wrinkles, minimize my pores and eliminate years of discolored sun spots, I bought myself a laser resurfacing treatment for my birthday. That was seven days ago.

I'm beyond the color red. A f**king tomato would be an understatement. It looks like someone fired a blow torch on my face. I'm applying Aquaphor like it's my job but face it, I look like a bad burn victim.

Although the treatment promises to make my skin smoother, tighter, more even in tone, texture, and color, I'm thinking that I might be the one case that doesn't get the right results. It doesn't do me any good to have second thoughts now but :

Should I have bought the Nancy Gonzalez bag instead?

When am I going to crust? When am I going to peel? The Doctor told me it's right around the corner. I sure hope that he's right. He warned me that my face could be red for up to two months but truthfully, all I heard was NO MORE WRINKLES.

I'm going out in public anyway because I've already blown through every season of WEEDS.

If anyone asks what happened to my face, I'm just gonna say that I had a kitchen accident.

.and my question is ........was it really worth it ? My grandmother once said when you age , age gracefully , so that's my game plan .

I think that you should say that you forgot to put on sunscreen...while leading a camel across the desert.

Oh yeah, this is brutal. My painter saw me (in spite of my best efforts to dodge him) on day 2 and gasped, "Oh my God! That is the worst case of poison ivy I've ever seen?! Did you fall in it?" So this laser thing is not for the, um, thin skinned.
