Life causes certain QUEST-ions to arise, doesn't it?

You reach a certain age and you begin to re-examine the “why”, the “what does it all mean” and the “how comes” of life.  You start questioning your purpose, your quest and your dreams. You try to put into context where you have been, searching for understanding to help guide you to where you should be going next.  Should I go for the new job, the new husband, the 3rd child?   Will I survive the economic downturn?  Will I burn down below for cheating in 5th grade?  There are those that find answers within the confines of organized religions, science, and technology.  There are books; self help guides, courses and plenty of literature about all of this stuff.  There are psychics, channelers, spiritual guides, tarot cards, guardian angels and for some, drugs.

I got an email recently from a psychic who channels one of her advisors she names as Metatron. Metatron, after a quick Google check, is an ancient Hebrew angel who exists on another dimension and who has been around for hundreds of thousands of years as an angel and spiritual leader of many.  Okay, I have to admit, that kind of freaked me out.  But he seems like a very kind angel.  As I understand it, right now according to Metatron, there are waves of energy coming through our atmosphere that we are to meant to focus on.   You are to let go of what it is you think you should be doing in the moment and instead allow the moment to take you towards that which is for your highest good.  We are supposed to be operating in our third or fifth dimension.  Huh?

I ask you, which is which? How do you get to the fifth dimension?  Do you take a taxi?  I always thought the Fifth Dimension was an early 70's R & B band. Okay, I know I am a neophyte and a bit unsure about how I feel about all of this stuff.  I know I shouldn’t be cynical about something I have never seriously studied, because if there really are guardian angels and guides, I wouldn’t want to piss mine off and I know for sure that I could benefit from the help!
