Thanksgiving, Lo-Cal Fantasy
I'm full and I haven't started cooking yet.
It is impossible to do Thanksgiving without all the excess. Potatoes; 2 kinds. Pie's; 2 kinds. Rolls, 2 kinds; one on the table and one hanging over my pants. Add to that the rest of the meal, the stuffing, the appetizers and my Aunt Blossom's Yum-Yum coffee cake and I am about ready to explode before we even sit down at the table. Just thinking about it gives me indigestion. I tried looking into low-cal versions of everything. I just can't imagine the complaining if I serve "cauliflower" mashed instead of garlic mashed potatoes. The faces I would get if I tried serving sugar free, gluten free apple pie or tofurky. Not to slam the vegans in my life but it just wouldn't be the same Thanksgiving without all of the traditional cholesterol loading food! So we will press on, calories and all and hope for the time in the gym after!

Every year I say , I'm doing the dinner ( to my hubby) go relax . And every year he HAS to inject the turkey , either with brine or whatever . Wonder what he will inject this year, botox? Thanks goodness this year my day will be small .I am doing the basic basics, turkey, stuffing , cranberries, yams and my youngest took over the desserts. Mashed with cauliflower is actually very good and very healthy , Robbie and you can still add garlic to it . HHHHHHHHHHHMMMMMM, well I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and eart hearty for it's a party !

Isn't this why we have Chariesse in our lives? Her 5 minute finisher (the ultimate F word) burns off pie and rolls and potatoes for 36 hours, so just do one on Wednesday. Problem solved.
