Lucky Charms In The House
When the kids come home from college for Thanksgiving, the food shopping goes all turbo.
I ran into a really fit acquaintance yesterday at our local supermarket and I saw that she couldn't keep her eyes off my shopping cart. Why? Because it was loaded with all those hey-I'm-on-a-hormonal-bender trashy foods. Tostidos, Pretzels, Fruity Pebbles, Coco Krispies, Ice Cream, Milanos, and everything else from the forbidden aisle 4.
I was packing and I was wearing an ear to ear grin.
She was stumbling a bit through the "How are you" pleasantries because I think she was shocked by the vast amount of shit in my cart. What was going through her mind, I wondered? Is Susan a binge eater? She looked like she wanted to say something, but she was one of those lovely kind of people who would never say anything that might offend someone...you know...the one's WITHOUT that no-filter gene.
In an effort to get her eyes out of my cart, I did my best Vanna White reveal and said, "My boys are coming home from college tomorrow!"
That did the trick and the eyes drifted back up to my face.
"Ohhhhhhhhh" she said. "No wonder you're smiling."
"I'm so excited to have them home!" I acknowledged and as soon as she turned the corner, I added, "And I am uber-excited to have all this crap back in the house, too."

What a Thanksgivimng dinner. Pop tarts ? Did you remember them a dn ranch flavored Doritos? I love it , first course will be Lucky Charms( we can fight over who gets the marshmallows) , followed by a big cup of java with Milanos. Next we can start on the whipped cream right from the can and finally follow it up with chocolate covered oreos . I'm in , save me a spot !
