The History Of Her Hair

A graphic essay of sorts.

This page was ripped from the sketch book of the girl with the curls.

The text goes something like this:

She was born July 4, 1988 in NYC with only one small curl.
Her parents were worried her hair would never grow...but they were wrong.
Her hair was dark, curly and huge!
It went on for days.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday....
As she got older the kids at school would make fun of her and she would cry herself to sleep.
Until one day she wore her hair straight and squeezed the curl and life out of it.
This was just the start.
She got the Japanese Thermal Straightening. Before. After.
And then the Brazilian Keratin Treatment.
Then one magical day she decided she could wear her hair curly or straight and be the same girl.
She went on job interviews with straight hair.
And danced in the sun with her curls.
But each night when she went to bed, she knew who she was...curly or straight haired all the same.
